I have always been in awe of Ms. Cicely Tyson ever sense I saw her play Miss Jane Pittman. Her presence in this world was truly a gift to the African-American community before she shared her story with the world. Now, after reading about her accomplishments, heartaches, blessings, and imperfections I have no doubt that her legacy will inspire and breath life into so many people the world over. This book is a must read! I plan on reading it again. I never had the honor of crossing paths with Ms. Tyson, but after reading Just As I Am, feel her spirit moving me. Thank you Ms. Cecily Tyson for sharing your story. Rest in Power.
